Catalog No. 1909/949
Pottery, transfer, 0.5L, pewter lid.
The name applied to this stein by Mettlach was “Gigerl”, literally meaning “rooster” in the south. It is synonymous with the term “Geck”, which is a man who struts around looking foolish, like a rooster can. Although there is no directly comparable term in English, the depiction on the stein makes the meaning clear.
