Catalog No. 1526/949
Pottery, transfer, 0.5L, pewter lid.
The name applied to this stein by Villeroy & Boch was “Gigerl”, literally meaning “rooster” in the south. It is synonymous with the term “Geck”, which is a man who struts around looking foolish, like a rooster can. Although there is no directly comparable term in English, the depiction on the stein makes the meaning clear.
