The central image on the 1975 convention stein depicts the Chicago Water Tower, a Chicago landmark located on North Michigan Avenue along the �Magnificent Mile� shopping district. The tower was built in 1869 by architect William W. Boyington from yellowing Joliet limestone. It is 154 feet tall and is the only structure to survive the great Chicago fire of 1871 that remains standing today.
