This stein was produced from about 1986 to 1995, when the East German DDR was in the late stages of collapse and Schierholz was reemerging as a private company. It is unique in that it is the only known Shierholz design originally developed during that period. All other late 20th century Schierholz production was based on designs originally molded by Edmund Haase from 1886 through 1899.
