Text is the first stanza of a poem entitled Tonkunst (Music) written in 1826 by Franz Grillparzer.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) is universally recognized as one of the great composers of the Classical period, and easily the most prolific. During his short lifetime he produced over 600 works, including more than 50 symphonies, as well as a wide variety of other compositions ranging from string quartets to lavish operas.
