Text is from the poem �In Einem K�hlen Grunde�, written by Joseph von Eichendorff in 1810, and set to music in 1814 by Johann Gl�ck.
The depiction of Wilhelm Tell and his son on the figural lid at the right is taken from a statue in Altdorf, Switzerland, sculpted in 1895 by Richard Kissling.
