Franz Defregger (1835-1921) was a Munich artist and professor whose depictions of Tyrolean life have come to symbolize the genre and are often seen on beer steins.
A variation of at least one of the 0.4L designs can be found with copper plating (bottom right) applied by L.Thannemann & Cie, a Munich finishing shop and distributor.
