The centrally depicted Griechische Kapelle (Greek Chapel), is the local name for the landmark Russian Orthodox Church of St. Elizabeth, built between 1847 and 1855 by Duke Adolf of Nassau in memory of his wife, the Russian princess Elizabeth Mikhailovna, who died during childbirth at the age of nineteen. Side images include the Nerotempel (Nero Temple), the K�nigliches Theater (Royal [now State] Theater), the Kochbrunnen (Boiling [hot spring] Fountain), and the Wiesbaden Rathaus (City Hall).
