Taken from the classic fairytale first published by Charles Perrault in 1697, and later by the Grimm brothers in 1812, the scene on this stein depicts the awakening of a princess who had been cursed to sleep for 100 years by a fairy who had been overlooked as a potential Godmother during the princesses’ christening ceremony.
