Although not specifically stated, the scene on this stein is presumed to be taken from a poem entitled �The Trumpeter of S�ckingen�, written in 1853 by Josef Viktor von Scheffel, which tells the story of a love affair between the trumpeter (Werner) and a baron�s daughter (Margaretha).
